My family currently has decent combined household income, our mortgage is approximately 10 years away to be paid off; we chose for our child to attend public school vs private so we only had to pay for childcare during preschool years; & we sacrifice having a few luxuries today, so that we can save for a comfortable future. Even with somewhat good planning, we are worried about our ability to retire in Hawaii and constantly considering & researching other states or countires that have lower cost of living so we can stretch our savings. I’ve spent a lifetime learning to budget & save; I would like to learn more on how to begin the retirement stage & find peace of mind that it is possible to retire in Hawaii like my parents, grandparents, & great grandparent were able to do.
